Jay Davidson
Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

In July 1995, Jay co-founded First American State Bank, this de-novo commercial bank is designed to serve the independent businessperson disenfranchised by large, regional banks. In addition to his position at FASB, Jay serves on the Board of Directors of the First American State Bank Fitness Festival, an organization devoted to raising money for the Community Asset Project of the Cherry Creek School System. He also serves on the board of the Kenneth King Foundation, as well as Step 13. Jay served the state of Colorado for eight consecutive years (1999-2007) as a board member of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), to which he was appointed by the Governor of Colorado and confirmed by the State Senate. He has been named in the Marquis "Who's Who in the World” and in the Denver Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Business and Finance." He has been married for more than 30 years, has two children and enjoys mountain biking, photography, woodworking, high precision shooting, reading, hiking and philosophy.

 

Joseph H. Franzgrote
Board of Directors

Joe is retired President of 9KUSA in Denver, a veteran of 30 years with Gannett Television. He served previously as President of KARE-TV in Minneapolis and in executive positions with other Gannett stations. In addition to FASB, he currently is the Chairman of the Denver Metro Heart Association and is on the Board of Directors for Colorado Ocean’s Journey and the Denver Foundation for Art, Culture and Film. His prior associations include chairmanships and award from numerous charitable and civic organizations. He is married with one child and his hobbies include golf, fishing, stein collecting, travel and Notre Dame football.

 

Steve Leonard
Board of Directors

Steve has been a successful real estate investor for 20 years in California and Colorado. In 1981, he formed Pacifica Holding Company of California, a commercial management and development company, and Leonard & Ohren, a commercial brokerage company, to establish a portfolio of properties in the South Bay and airport areas of Los Angeles. In 1989, he shifted his focus to Denver and formed Pacifica Holding Company of Colorado (PHCC), which grew to have Colorado’s largest real estate portfolio valued at more than $750 million. Recent real estate investments include industrial buildings and land development in Madrid . Steve is also founder of Brokers for Battered Kids, which has raised almost $2 million for disadvantaged children in the Denver area.

 

Scott Shwayder

Scott has been in the real estate business since 1985 and has experience in investment property sales, analysis and finance. He is currently co-owner and principal of Unique Properties LLC, a full service commercial real estate brokerage firm with expertise in investment properties. Scott has brokered in excess of $750 million in real estate transactions during his career in addition to his activities with his various real estate investment companies. Scott has provided consulting services and acted as a conduit for the financing of various projects in the Denver area. Since 1992 Scott has been recognized by the Denver Board of Realtors as one of the highest producers in commercial sales in Denver. Scott is also very active in the community, currently as director with the Food Bank of the Rockies and Children’s Garden, a Denver-based Montessori school.

 

Walter Imhoff
Board of Directors
Walter F. Imhoff, Retired Managing Director of Stifel, Nicolaus, Hanifen, Imhoff Division, an investment banking and financial services firm.  Hanifen, Imhoff was one of the largest investment banking organizations in the Rocky Mountain area, prior to its merger with Stifel, Nicolaus in January, 2000.

Mr. Imhoff started his business career in 1955 with Coughlin and Company, serving as an assistant vice president. In 1960, he joined Edward A. Hanifen and Norbert J. Samford to establish the firm of Hanifen, Imhoff & Samford, Inc.  The firm’s name was changed to Hanifen, Imhoff Inc. in 1980.  In January 2000, Hanifen, Imhoff merged with Stifel, Nicolaus headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Imhoff and his wife, Georgia, are parents of five children.

Kevin Preblud
Board of Directors
Kevin is a third generation Denver native.  Upon graduating from the University of Colorado School of Business in 1985, Kevin began full-time work as a fourth generation member of his family’s recycling business, and remained with the company as Executive Vice President until 1989.  He subsequently moved to California where he became the Managing Partner for a Secondary Fibre Brokerage firm which markets material to paper manufacturers throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Asia.  Most recently Kevin served as the Managing Director for Integrated Petroleum Equipment Company, ultimately negotiating its sale to Source, North America, the largest petroleum equipment-stocking distributor in the United States.

 

Fred Vierra
Board of Directors
Fred is a retired icon of the Telecommunications industry.  His distinguished career began in cable as Executive Vice President, Investment Banking, for Daniels & Associates, the leading financial services company for the cable industry.  Fred served as the CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tele-Communications International, Inc., a NASDAQ listed company and the international arm of Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI).  Prior to TCI, Fred was the President and COO of United Cable Television Corporation, which merged into United Artists Entertainment.  In addition to others, he has served on the board of Turner Broadcasting and Discovery Channel, and currently sits on the board of Jones International Networks, Ltd.  Fred enjoys golfing, and traveling to Palm Springs when the weather turns colder in Colorado.

 

Nick Lepetsos
President

Nick has been in the financial services industry for over 11 years. He began his commercial banking career with a local bank holding company, where he spent nine years before moving to the private equity investment and venture capital arena. He has significant experience in real estate lending, including residential and commercial construction projects. Nick earned an MBA from the University of Colorado in 1999 and also has a degree in Economics from Arizona State University. He is married and has two children.

 

John E. Phillips
Executive Vice President

John is a seasoned banking executive with over 30 years of financial experience.  With extensive expertise in business development, financial management, and value creation, John grew a Houston based financial institution over $600M during a 15 yr period. His hands on experience with asset/liability management, lending, and long term planning, has enabled John to successfully grow and manage multiple institutions throughout his career.  John has an MBA as well as an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Colorado.  He is married with two adult sons.
