First American State Bank has impacted the local community in multiple ways.  The Bank is happy to announce the continued support for The Village Toy Drive benefiting Volunteers of America Colorado Branch. VOA needed 6,000 toys for the Holiday season and we were proud to donate 1,200 toys for the 2015 season!  We will be kicking off our third annual, The Village Toy Drive for the 2016 Holiday season in October.  Thank you to all who participated! Every child in Colorado deserves a magical Christmas.

The First American State Bank Fitness Festival, a 501(c)(3) organization, was started in 2001 and was run by First American State Bank for thirteen years; the festival was originated by the bank’s CEO, Jay Davidson and his wife Kristina.  The event drew thousands of families and community members to a 5K, run/walk through beautiful Greenwood Village, CO.  The festival raised more than $1,000,000 for Cherry Creek Schools’ Community Asset Program, which focuses on providing key developmental assets.  This program reached more than 50,000 children and teens to help ensure everyone has the chance to maximize their life skills and academic potential, while avoiding at-risk behavior such as alcohol and drugs.  In 2014 the Bank gave the Fitness Festival to Cherry Creek School Districts.  The District now runs the Festival on Cherry Creek High School's campus.

Davidson, who has served on multiple boards, is passionate about giving back to the community and supports his employees who wish to give time to their favorite non-profit.  The company frequently offers matching contributions for employee causes and non-profit donations, and also actively facilitates employee volunteerism by maintaining supportive policies regarding time off for efforts.  All employees, from officers to tellers, operate under a single vision of fairness and superior customer service when interacting with customers, peers and the community. They are encouraged to look beyond themselves for the greater good.

All of First American State Bank’s community outreach is inspired by employees and officers through their commitment professionally and personally to benefit the community.  To learn more, contact Michelle Gruber at
