30 YEARS OF LOCAL BANKING

Still True to Its Core Values, First American State Bank is Key to Our Community

When First American State Bank opened its doors in 1995, the Denver banking world was almost unrecognizable from how people bank today. Yet despite the vast changes throughout the last thirty years, what has kept them relevant is the mutual respect between the banker, employee and customers that are the core values of FASB.

“The strength of our community involvement is really what allows us to stand out over the last 30 years and what still sets us apart today” shares CEO of First American State Bank, Jay Davidson. “Back then there were 8,000 total community banks across the country and today there are less than 4,000. This goes to show just how hard it is to start a bank, but also to keep it running, and our community centric dedication is what makes it all possible.” Davidson continues: “Our younger, more technically oriented customers don’t require brick and motor buildings, they prefer an online or mobile interface. We provide powerful mobile banking capabilities with intuitive interface and state of the art online banking capacity.”

Davidson states with pride, “Our customers are known by name, there are no long teller lines, real people pick up the phone, questions are answered promptly and professionally, and leading-edge technology is engaged to deliver the right solution to just about every type of customer issue.”

While banking has always been a tradition for the Davidson family, Jay was initially reluctant to join the banking industry. “My grandfather was larger than life and I always looked up to him and his career in banking. I didn’t dare dream about going into the same business or even say it out loud when I was a kid,” shares Davidson but it soon became clear that banking was what he was meant to do.

When asked about his great accomplishments over the past 30 years, Davidson shared that he is, “Most proud of what we’ve built and how we support our local community, but beyond that, I am most proud of getting my daughter, Michelle Gruber, involved in the business. I’m proud of her and it’s such a pleasure to get to share this experience with her. Together, we get to help people grow their businesses and reach their goals which is what this is all about.”

First American State Bank is a locally owned and operated community bank located in Greenwood Village. Known for its first-class customer service, the bank offers products and services for individuals and businesses alike, including mobile, online and in-person.
